“A sonic signature entirely its own,” raved the New York Times, describing Cuarteto Casals’ distinctive range of expression. A prize from the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust in London enabled the quartet to purchase a matching set of Classical period bows which it uses for works from Purcell through Schubert, deepening its ability to distinguish between diverse musical styles. In addition, the quartet has been profoundly influenced by its work with living composers, especially György Kurtag, and has given the world premiere of quartets written by leading Spanish composers.

In recognition of Cuarteto Casals’ unique position as the first Spanish string quartet with a truly international profile, the quartet has been honored with the Premio Nacional de Música as well as the Premi Ciutat Barcelona.

The Linden String Quartet has been described as "radiant and incisive" by The Strad magazine. Four years of touring followed their residency at Yale (with the Tokyo String Quartet). Now based in Cleveland, they opened their Cleveland Parallels Chamber Music Series at Severance Hall's Reinberger Hall, a series in which they mean to "curate meaninful, thought-provoking, reflective, and beautiul moments to share with [their] community."

Michael Brown returns to RICMC after his appearance with Music from Ravinia in March, 2011. The New York Times recognizes him as “a young piano visionary” with “powerful technique and a vivid imagination.”

The Berlin-based Artemis Quartet, founded in 1989, is recognised today as one of the foremost quartets in the world. The quartet has performed in all the great music centres and international festivals in Europe, the USA, Japan, South America and Australia, and has won many prestigous prizes in Europe. Their recording of the complete quartetswas awarded the French "Grand Prix de l'Académie Charles Cros." In recognition of its 2012 recording of the three great Schubert quartets, the Artemis Quartet has been invited to design a concert series featuring these works and many guest artists in the Salle Pleyel in Paris for the 2013/14 season.

Since 2004, the Artemis Quartet has been programming its own critically renowned series in the Berlin Philharmonie and, in addition, was named Quartet in Residence at the Vienna Konzerthaus in 2011.

The ensemble-in-residence at Music Toronto for ten years, the Gryphon Trio tours extensively throughout North America and Europe. The group’s flagship educational project Listen Up! launched in the 2010-11 season in Almonte, Ontario. Created by the Trio in collaboration with composer Andrew Staniland and music educator Rob Kapilow, Listen Up! involves an entire school in the creation of a new work for choir and piano trio. The project continued in the communities of Hamilton and Midland, Ontario, in 2011-12 and will travel to Ottawa, Ontario and Winnipeg, Manitoba in coming seasons.

The Trio’s fifteen celebrated recordings are an encyclopedia of works by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Lalo, Shostakovich, and Piazzolla. Their most recent recording of piano trios by Ludwig van Beethoven was acknowledged with a 2011 Juno Award (their second) from Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

"The Gryphon Trio is one of the best ensembles in the world, consistently making music of rare excellence." --The Globe and Mail, Toronto
